abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost dye-sensitized solar cell having an energy conversion efficiency equivalent to that using only platinum as a catalytically active material for a counter electrode. A semiconductor electrode 3 carrying a dye 31 is provided on a transparent electrode 20 composed of a substrate 1 and a transparent conductive layer 2, and is opposed to the porous semiconductor electrode 3 through a charge transfer layer 4. An electrode 5 is provided. In the counter electrode 5, an electrode layer 6 is provided on the charge transfer layer 4 side, and the electrode layer 6 contains a carbon nanomaterial carrying a catalytically active material.
