abstract | The electrophoretic property of pigment particles in a dispersion for electrophoretic display is enhanced to realize a display with high reflectivity and high contrast, and to impart a high electric resistance value. An electrophoretic display dispersion comprising an electrically insulating solvent, a pigment, and a dispersant, wherein the water content is 2000 to 4000 ppm. Electrophoretic display particles in which this dispersion is enclosed in microcapsules. An electrophoretic display device using the dispersion liquid for electrophoretic display or particles for electrophoretic display. By containing a predetermined amount of water in the dispersion, it is possible to improve the electrophoretic properties by promoting the charging of the pigment particles in the dispersion, to achieve a high reflectance and contrast ratio, and to separate free water molecules. By reducing and suppressing a decrease in electric resistance value, pulse driving can be enabled. [Selection] Figure 1 |
