abstract An apparatus capable of efficiently heating a gas is provided. An apparatus for heating a gas by bringing the gas into contact with a heating element, wherein a plurality of heating elements are accommodated in a container 1 having a gas inlet and a gas outlet, and an electromagnetic wave is provided around the outer periphery of the container. An induction coil 6 for induction heating is wound, and the plurality of heating elements are columnar heating elements, respectively, so that the longitudinal direction of the container and the longitudinal direction of the columnar heating element are parallel to each other.
