abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin composition which is excellent in thermal stability and can be stably heat-melt molded without problems of gelation and coloring. SOLUTION: The vinyl alcohol polymer (A) comprises 100 parts by weight and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of a fatty acid ester compound (B) having a total carbon number of 36 or more in the fatty acid unit, and the vinyl alcohol polymer (A). The polyvinyl alcohol-type resin composition whose content of the alkali metal element with respect to 100 weight part is 0.00001-0.05 weight part. The vinyl alcohol polymer (A) is preferably a modified polyvinyl alcohol containing 1 to 20 mol% of an α-olefin unit having 4 or less carbon atoms, and the plasticizer (C) is a vinyl alcohol polymer (A) 100.
