PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaccine and a method for immunizing mammals including humans against infection by group B Streptococcus type II (GBS II) and / or group B Streptococcus type V (GBS V). SOLUTION: A capsular polysaccharide derived from a group B Streptococcus (GBS) type V bacterium and a protein component, and two or more side chains ending with a sialic acid residue of the polysaccharide component are converted into a protein by a secondary amine bond.
