abstract | [PROBLEMS] To eliminate the need for maintenance and management of coating liquids and coating equipment, to improve productivity, and to easily form a uniform nano-sized metal thin film without being restricted by the shape of the workpiece (base material). A method for producing a metal thin film that can be formed into a film is provided. A method for producing a metal thin film comprising a step of preparing an adjustment liquid by dissolving or dispersing a metal salt in a solvent, and a step of irradiating the adjustment liquid with microwaves, before or after irradiation with microwaves. The substrate is brought into contact with the adjustment liquid after irradiation, and a metal thin film composed of the metal in the metal salt is directly formed on the surface of the substrate.
