abstract Provided is a write-once information recording medium that uses a short wavelength laser beam such as a blue laser beam and can record and reproduce information with a high density and a performance level that is sufficiently suitable for practical use. A write-once information recording disk including a transparent resin substrate having a concentric or spiral groove and a recording film formed on the groove on the transparent resin substrate. Is formed of a single organic dye that has an anion part and a dye part and has a maximum absorption wavelength region on the long wavelength side of the wavelength of the short wavelength laser light irradiated to the recording film. A recording mark is formed on the recording film, and the recording mark is a write-once optical disc 28 having a light reflectance higher than that of the recording film before irradiation with the short-wavelength laser light, and after recording rather than before recording. This shows a so-called low-to-high characteristic in which the reflectance is higher. [Selection] Figure 6
