A medical device, particularly an implantable medical device, that can be coated to minimize or substantially eliminate certain biological biological reactions to the introduction of the medical device into a living body. The medical device can be coated with a number of biocompatible materials. Various therapeutic drugs, agents or formulations can be mixed with the biocompatible material and affixed to at least a portion of the medical device.
