abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stabilization method that suppresses spontaneous color development in a reagent that enables simultaneous determination of LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol in one measurement. A method for quantifying cholesterol and total cholesterol in a low-density lipoprotein in a biological sample in a single measurement, wherein lipoproteins other than the low-density lipoprotein in the biological sample are treated to produce hydrogen peroxide. A first step of generating and a second step of converting the hydrogen peroxide obtained in the first step into a quinone dye and treating the remaining low density lipoprotein to convert the generated hydrogen peroxide into a quinone dye, A method of quantifying cholesterol and total cholesterol in low-density lipoprotein from a single measurement from the amount of the quinone dye produced in the second step without producing a quinone dye in one step.
