abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording material which is excellent in blue color tone and has a very good readability with a barcode reader when a barcode is printed, and has a high storage stability. SOLUTION: In a heat-sensitive recording material provided with a heat-sensitive coloring layer containing a colorless or light-colored basic leuco dye and an organic developer as main components on a support, the color tone of the colored image is JIS-Z-. The color difference L * value, the color difference a * value, and the color difference b * value specified in 8729 are L * value: 25 to 40, a * value: 5 to 20, and b * value: −30 to −40, respectively. The basic leuco dye for this purpose is obtained by combining black coloring dye 3-di-n-pentylamino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane and blue coloring dye 3,3′-bis (dimethyl).
