titleOfInvention | Brassinosteroid biosynthetic gene d11 involved in plant semi-fertility, and use thereof |
abstract | It is an object of the present invention to provide a d11 gene involved in plant semi-dwarfing, a method of dwarfing a plant targeting the gene, and a molecule used in the method. By using a map-based cloning technique, a single gene d11 that causes a d11 mutation that causes a semi-fertile abnormality in rice was identified and isolated from a large chromosomal region. A database search was performed to determine the base sequence of the isolated d11 gene and to identify genes structurally related thereto. As a result, the d11 gene was found to encode the d11 protein, a novel cytochrome P450 involved in the brassinosteroid biosynthesis pathway. The present inventors have found that it is possible to dwarf plants by using the d11 gene. [Selection] Figure 2 |
