A bowel movement improving agent comprising a citrus albedo as an active ingredient. A food or beverage for improving bowel movements comprising the bowel movement improving agent. A representative example of citrus fruits containing these albedo is grapefruit. The albedo may be processed so as not to inhibit the pharmacological effect.
