titleOfInvention | Process for producing polyarylene sulfide |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a PAS excellent in color tone without causing deterioration of mechanical properties and the like possessed by polyarylene sulfide. SOLUTION: In a method for producing a polyarylene sulfide by polymerizing an alkali metal sulfide and a polyhalogenated aromatic compound in a polar organic solvent, at least a polymerization reaction of the alkali metal sulfide and the polyhalogenated aromatic compound is started. Oxidizing gas from the process until the remaining amount of by-product alkali metal halide contained in the polyarylene sulfide in the process of recovering the polyarylene sulfide becomes 10% by weight or less based on the polyarylene sulfide. A process for producing polyarylene sulfide, which is carried out in an atmosphere having a concentration of less than 5% by volume. [Selection figure] No selection figure. |
