abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mass spectrometer capable of appropriately selecting a gas to be introduced into a collision part according to a purpose of use of a gas or a mass number of a sample. In a mass spectrometer having an ionization unit for ionizing a sample, a mass analysis unit for mass separation / detection of sample ions, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the entire apparatus, sample ions generated by the ionization unit Is provided with a collision part provided in the ion path until the gas is introduced into the mass analysis part, and a gas introduction means for introducing one or more gases selected from two or more kinds of gases into the collision part. By performing analysis using such an apparatus, mass spectrometry with high accuracy can be performed. [Selection] Figure 1
