abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording / reproducing method and apparatus for a dye-based recordable DVD medium capable of obtaining a good recording waveform when performing high linear velocity recording. (1) A mark other than the shortest mark is placed on the head and the back of a heating pulse on a recording layer mainly composed of an organic dye formed on a substrate having a guide groove provided with a high frequency wobble. Two places at the end are increased in output for a certain period of time, and the output (pulse light power) is recorded with one pulse light having a relationship of “leading part> rear end part”, and the recording is reproduced with reproducing light.
