titleOfInvention Reprocessing method by selective sulfidation and partial dissolution
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a fuel material from other fission product elements without dissolving them in an oxide state. (1) A pulverization step of pulverizing a fuel element by heating and oxidizing spent fuel; (2) a powder obtained in the pulverization step in an atmosphere containing a sulfiding agent; The fuel material is reduced by heating with a selective sulfurization process that selectively sulfidizes the fission product into a sulfide or oxysulfide; (3) The material obtained in the selective sulfurization process is washed with a dilute acid. This includes a partial dissolution step in which the sulfide is dissolved and the fission product elements are washed away and the fuel material is extracted as an oxide. [Selection] Figure 1
