【Task】 A method for producing print media that helps reduce undesirable print artifacts such as bronzing, gloss non-uniformity, print smudges, and coalescence is provided. [Solution] The printing medium manufacturing method of the present invention may include the steps of preparing a coating composition having an acidic pH, and coating the printing medium with the coating composition to form an ink receiving layer on the printing medium. The coating composition can include an inorganic particle dispersion, a polymer binder, and a weak base composed of a salt of an alkali metal and a weak acid. The weak base generates gas bubbles in the coating composition as a result of the acidic pH. [Selection figure] None |
