abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having high flame retardancy and excellent mechanical strength without generating harmful gas during combustion, and an electric wire / cable using the same for an insulator / sheath of a conductor. . SOLUTION: A composition in which an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer is used alone or mixed with another ethylene copolymer or a polyolefin as a base polymer to have a vinyl acetate content of 50 wt% or more in 100 parts by weight of the base polymer. On the other hand, it contains 50 to 300 parts by weight of metal hydroxide and 0.5 to 50 parts by weight of 1,3,5-triazine derivative. [Selection figure] None
