PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actinic ray curable inkjet ink composition and an actinic ray curable inkjet ink set which are excellent in curability, do not cause color mixing, and can stably record a high-definition image. And an image forming method and an ink jet recording apparatus using the same. In an actinic ray curable inkjet ink composition containing at least a photopolymerizable compound, an acid generator and a coloring material, at least one of the photopolymerizable compounds is a cationic polymerizable monomer and has a carbon number. An actinic ray curable inkjet ink composition comprising 1 to 10 monohydric alcohol in an amount of 0.1 to 10% by mass relative to the total mass of the actinic ray curable inkjet ink composition.
