Apparatus and method for minimally invasive implantation of biomaterials |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a minimally invasive method for placing a delivery system substantially close to vascular tissue and a delivery system used in such a method. The delivery system can be a flexible biological structure with soft tether means. The delivery system can be inserted percutaneously in the vicinity of vascular tissue, such as peritoneal tissue. Once the delivery system is inserted, the delivery system can be pulled against the vascular tissue with a tether to secure the delivery system to the vascular tissue. The tether can be substantially tensioned to maintain contact between the front surface of the delivery system and the vascular tissue. The delivery system can achieve sustained delivery of the active agent. [Selection] Figure 10 |
