An object of the present invention is to realize a plasma display device with improved luminance, lifetime, and reliability by making the coating state of a green phosphor layer uniform and suppressing deterioration of luminance. Green phosphor particles constituting a green phosphor layer are obtained by coating a surface of a compound represented by Zn 2 SiO 4 : Mn with a boron-containing oxide or a rare earth boron oxide. A plasma display device characterized by being a device. Thereby, the phosphor particles are uniformly and strongly positively charged, and the application state can be made uniform and the deterioration of luminance can be suppressed.
