abstract [Problem] To provide an original polyester fiber having a good color tone with little dullness and color tone fluctuation and excellent in light fastness and heat resistance. An ester-forming derivative of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and an alkylene glycol are subjected to an ester exchange reaction using an alkaline earth metal compound as a catalyst, and then the catalyst is deactivated with a specific phosphorus compound (A). A polyester primary fiber obtained by melt spinning a polyester obtained by polycondensation reaction of a diester in the system in the presence of a catalyst containing the phosphorus compound (B) and a specific titanium compound, and containing a colorant.
