abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ink jet recording sheet, in which cracks of an ink receiving layer are greatly improved and glossiness, ink absorption, image quality, and long-term storage are excellent. In a method for producing an ink jet recording sheet having at least two ink receiving layers containing inorganic fine particles and a binder on a support, at least one layer containing inorganic fine particles and a binder is provided on the support. After forming the inner ink receiving layer, an aqueous solution containing a cationic compound is coated on the inner ink receiving layer to form a water coating layer, and then the inorganic fine particles and the binder are formed on the water coating layer.
