abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing titanium or a titanium alloy directly from titanium ore using titanium ore as a material to be reduced. The titanium production method of the present invention is a method of producing titanium or a titanium alloy using a titanium-containing material as a raw material, and reacts with a titanium compound by selectively chlorinating impurities contained in the titanium-containing material. A step (S1) for producing a reduced raw material body containing an auxiliary agent, a step (S2) for producing a raw material molded body by molding the reduced raw material body into a predetermined shape, and a titanium compound contained in the raw material molded body.
