abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To have a similar appearance to a double-sided printing paper having different surface textures on the front and back, which has been conventionally used for offset printing and gravure printing, and the coating layer is cracked or peeled off even if it is folded. To provide an ink jet recording medium capable of double-sided recording, which has a good bookbinding processability that does not occur and can be suitably used as a cover of a book-like printed matter such as a catalog or book as an alternative to the double-sided printing paper. A cast coat layer having a gloss finish by a casting method is provided on one side of a base paper, and an undercoat layer containing an alkaline earth metal salt and a top coat containing inorganic ultrafine particles are provided on the other side of the base paper.
