PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrolytically produce industrially useful percarbonate using inexpensive and readily available carbon dioxide as a raw material. Carbon dioxide gas is supplied to an electrolytic cell having a gas diffusion anode and a cathode, or a liquid 12 in which carbon dioxide gas 13 is dissolved is supplied to an electrolytic cell 16 having an anode 18 and a cathode 19, and the carbon dioxide gas is supplied. A method for producing percarbonate, which is obtained by electrolytically converting methane into percarbonate. By appropriately setting the electrolysis conditions for the electrodes and the like, it is possible to produce useful percarbonate using inexpensive carbon dioxide as a raw material with high current efficiency.
