abstract |
There is provided a lubricant application device having a configuration capable of applying an appropriate amount of lubricant without causing uneven application over the entire surface of a photoreceptor and preventing excessive application. A solid lubricant 3b formed in a rod shape and a brush which is disposed at a position in contact with both the solid lubricant 3b and the image carrier 1 and scrapes the solid lubricant 3b on the surface of the image carrier 1 A lubricant application device 3 that includes a roller 3a and forms a film made of a lubricant on the surface of the image carrier 1, and a pressure member 3c that pressurizes the solid lubricant 3b toward the brush roller 3a. The pressure of the pressurizing member 3c-2 located in the central region is made smaller than the pressure of the pressurizing member 3c-1 provided in the longitudinal direction of the agent 3b and positioned in the end region in the longitudinal direction.
