PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a porous metal film capable of easily controlling the porosity, the size of the pores, or the shape of the pores, and a method for producing a sensor using the same. An organic powder such as an acrylic resin powder is dispersed in a solvent (step S101), and then applied onto a substrate and dried to form a hole forming film (step S102). Next, a raw material powder such as a metal powder is dispersed in a solvent (step S103), and then impregnated into a pore forming film to form a precursor film (step S104). Subsequently, the precursor film is heated to thermally decompose and remove the organic powder, and the raw material powder is sintered (step S105). As a result, the area occupied by the organic powder becomes pores. In particular, when acrylic resin powder is used, pores are formed while the shape of the acrylic resin powder is maintained, and the residue after thermal decomposition can be reduced.
