abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method for a p53 protein activation regulator. A method for identifying a drug that promotes or suppresses activation of p53 protein in a mammalian cell, wherein (a) a cell capable of expressing a GADD34 gene is treated with the candidate drug in the presence of the candidate drug. A step of culturing the cells under the condition that the GADD34 gene can be expressed in the absence of the above, and (b) detecting the promotion or suppression of GADD34 gene expression in the cells obtained by the step (a). When the promotion of GADD34 gene expression is detected in step (b), the candidate drug is identified as a drug that promotes the activation of p53 protein, and the suppression of GADD34 gene expression is detected in step (b). The candidate drug is identified as a drug that suppresses the activation of the p53 protein. [Selection figure] None |
