abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce and use an immortalized cell line useful as a substrate for virus propagation, recombinant protein expression and recombinant virus production. The immortalized cell line of the present invention allows primary chicken embryo fibroblasts to grow in culture; the fibroblasts in this culture are passaged until they initiate cell senescence; The cells in the culture are concentrated until a culture confluence of about 30% to about 60% is maintained; the focus of the non-senescent cells in the culture is identified; the non-senescent cells are isolated; and the non-senescent cells Can be produced by a method comprising the step of growing for more than 30 passages.
