titleOfInvention | Method for producing polybutylene terephthalate |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To significantly reduce a decrease in molecular weight (decrease in intrinsic viscosity) and a deterioration in hue (color b value) due to thermal deterioration during heat melting, and to be excellent in productivity, heat resistance, mechanical strength, and moldability. Another object of the present invention is to provide polybutylene terephthalate for use in molded articles, sheets and films. The above-mentioned problems can be solved by a method for producing polybutylene terephthalate in which polybutylene terephthalate is brought into contact with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt and / or an alkaline earth metal salt having a concentration of 1 ppm to 10 wt%.
