titleOfInvention Resol type phenolic resin for friction material and method for producing the same
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resol type phenol resin for a friction material and a method for producing the same, which can obtain a friction material having a good working environment at the time of handling and excellent mechanical strength. A content of unreacted phenols is 1% by weight or less, and a resol type phenol resin for friction material and a method for producing the resol type phenol resin for friction material, (A) synthesizing a novolac-type phenol resin by reacting phenols and aldehydes in the presence of an acidic catalyst; and (B) a step of synthesizing a resol type phenol resin in which the content of unreacted phenols is 1% by weight or less by reacting the novolak type phenol resin with an aldehyde in the presence of an alkaline catalyst. A method for producing a resol type phenol resin for a friction material, which is characterized. [Selection figure] None
