PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incubator capable of quickly evacuating a microplate at the time of occurrence of an emergency and promptly sterilizing the inside of the incubator and the microplate transport device. In an incubator according to the present invention, an incubator assembly 2 is installed inside a chamber, and the incubator assembly 2 is a micro for transporting a microplate in a triaxial direction in a chamber on a base 21. A plate transport unit 2a and a stacker unit 2b provided with a plurality of microplate storage shelves for storing microplates are provided. Each of the microplate transport unit 2a and the stacker unit 2b can be detached from the base 21 in a state where the base 21 is accommodated in the chamber and taken out from the opening of the chamber.
