abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RTB-based permanent magnet having high dimensional accuracy by suppressing partial collapse (granulation) in a surface portion. An R-T-B permanent magnet 1 according to the present invention includes a magnet body 2 and a protective film 3 coated on the surface of the magnet body 2. A high hydrogen concentration layer 21 having a high hydrogen concentration exists on the surface layer portion of the magnet body 2. The high hydrogen concentration layer 21 contains 300 to 1000 ppm of hydrogen. The hydrogen high concentration layer 21 has a thickness of 300 μm or less. [Selection] Figure 1
