PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in charge / discharge capacity when charge / discharge is repeated. A positive electrode material for a non-aqueous secondary battery uses lithium manganese nickel cobalt oxide composed of lithium, manganese, nickel, cobalt, and oxygen. Lithium manganese nickel cobalt oxide is a layered structure Li [Li [(1-2x-y ) / 3] Ni x Co y Mn [(2-x-2y) / 3]] denoted as O 2, 0 .2 <x <0.5 and 0 <y <0.2, and 1 <2x + y. The manufacturing method includes a step of reacting an aqueous solution of nickel salt, cobalt salt and manganese salt with a strong alkaline aqueous solution to obtain a Ni—Co—Mn composite hydroxide, and oxidizing the composite hydroxide to form Ni—Co. A step of obtaining -Mn oxyhydroxide, a step of obtaining a raw material mixture by mixing the Ni-Co-Mn oxyhydroxide and a lithium compound, and firing the raw material mixture in the air to form a lithium transition metal composite Obtaining an oxide.
