abstract | [Objective] Polyester resin polycondensed in the presence of a titanium compound, with reduced amount of terminal carboxyl groups, and by-products such as oligomers and cyclic trimers due to solid-phase polycondensation can be reduced. The present invention also provides a polyester resin having good physical properties such as color tone and transparency, and a method for producing the polyester resin at a high solid-phase polycondensation rate.
