PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method capable of easily and efficiently producing D-kilo-inositol which is useful as a medicine. A method has been provided in which starting from D-kilo-1-inosose or myo-inositol, D-kilo-inositol can be produced by enzymatic reaction alone. A new process for the production of myo-inositol 2-dehydrogenase and scyllo-inosose isomerase as enzymes that can be used in the process for producing D-kilo-inositol was provided.
