PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner excellent in low-temperature fixability and easy to produce and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A toner obtained by aggregating and fusing resin particles and colorant particles in an aqueous medium is used as the toner. The resin particles consist of a copolymer consisting of a polymerizable monomer having a long-chain alkyl group-containing side chain represented by the following general structural formula (I) (wherein n is an integer of 8 or more and X is a substituent).
