abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine the active state of a developer of a lithographic printing plate having a negative image forming layer for infrared laser for direct plate making, and to feed back the result to the plate making process, thereby making the quality of the lithographic printing plate constant A quality control method for maintaining and forming uniform images continuously is provided. (A) A lithographic printing plate precursor provided with a photosensitive layer containing an infrared absorber, an acid generator and a crosslinkable compound on a support is developed with a standard developer after exposure. The development to be evaluated under the same conditions as in the step (A) except that the activity of the standard developer is determined by a predetermined index, and (B) development is performed with the developer to be evaluated. A step of determining the activity of the solution; (C) a step of comparing the activity of the standard developer with the activity of the developer to be evaluated; and (D) the activity as a result of the comparison.
