abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel organic compound which can be used for a fluorescent probe which responds to a superoxide or mercapto compound with high selectivity. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In the present invention, for example, a superoxide or mercapto compound (compound having a -SH group such as a thiol) is highly selectively used by using a sulfonate compound such as the following formulas (i) to (iv). Can be detected. In the following formulas (i) to (iv), at least one of R 1 and R 2 is a strong electron-withdrawing group such as a nitro group, and a nitro group is particularly preferable. For detection of superoxide, for example, (i) is preferable, and for detection of mercapto compounds, for example, (ii) to (iv) are preferable. However, the compound of the present invention is not limited to these. The compounds of the present invention can be used in various applications such as the production of various clinical analysis reagents and pharmaceutical screening.
