abstract An electron-emitting device using CNTs having excellent electrical and mechanical characteristics is realized by an extremely simple manufacturing method. Two substrates 5 (5a, 5b) are separated from each other. As the two substrates 5 move away from each other, the plurality of line-segmented CNTs 2 are aligned to stand up with respect to the surface of the substrate 5 all at once. By solidifying the paste material 3 as a support member and supporting the CNT 2 in an upright state with the support member, a CNT bundle used for an electron-emitting device or other applications is formed.
