PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple and high performance electrochromic mirror which is easy to manufacture and low in cost, and does not generate a double image. An electrochromic mirror 10 has a simple configuration in which only three layers of a transparent electrode film 14, an electromic film 16, and a light reflecting film 18 are formed on a glass substrate 12, and each of these films is formed. The film thickness, film quality, etc. of the structure hardly affect the performance. Therefore, manufacture is easy and low cost. In addition, since the electrochromic film 16 is formed between the transparent electrode film 14 and the light reflecting film 18, hydrogen ions in the electrolytic solution 28 are forcibly drawn into the electrochromic film 16. Thereby, the reduction coloring response is improved. Furthermore, since the light incident on the glass substrate 12 from the front surface side is reflected by the light reflecting film 18 formed on the back surface of the glass substrate 12, the occurrence of double images is prevented.
