abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasoline composition capable of accurately predicting a motor method octane number of gasoline containing ethyl-t-butyl ether and achieving a sufficient motor method octane number improving effect. SOLUTION: The total amount of the composition contains 1 to 20% by volume of ethyl-t-butyl ether and 80 to 99% by volume of the base gasoline. The base gasoline is 1 to 25 normal paraffin hydrocarbons based on the total amount of the base gasoline. Contains volume%, isoparaffin hydrocarbon 20-50 volume%, olefin hydrocarbon 1-30 volume%, aromatic hydrocarbon 1-50 volume%, and the following formula (1) [(A), (B ), (C) and (D) are represented by the content (volume%) of normal paraffinic hydrocarbons, isoparaffinic hydrocarbons, olefinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons based on the total amount of base gasoline.
