abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and economically produce a high-purity arbutin crystal having excellent water solubility and few impurities. [Solution] In purifying arbutin, a solution dissolved in a good solvent for arbutin and a poor solvent for arbutin that is miscible with the good solvent are crystallized, and the resulting crystals are poor for arbutin. The above problem can be solved by washing with a solvent that is miscible with the good solvent. [Selection figure] None
