titleOfInvention Process for producing N- (1,1-dimethyl-3-oxobutyl) acrylamide
abstract [PROBLEMS] To satisfy all of the qualities that N- (1,1-dimethyl-3-oxobutyl) acrylamide (DAAM) has such as hue, polymerization rate, and light transmittance, and is simplified and cost-effective. An excellent DAAM manufacturing method is provided. After reacting acetone or an acetone derivative with acrylonitrile or acrylamide under strongly acidic conditions, the reaction solution is neutralized as necessary, and then a weakly basic substance is added to the reaction solution under alkaline conditions. The by-product acrylamide is hydrolyzed. [Selection figure] None
