The present invention provides a method for easily producing a high-purity (meth) acrylic acid ester having a low content of low-boiling impurities such as a raw material (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester and alcohol. An acid is added before subjecting the desired (meth) acrylic acid ester obtained by transesterification of (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester and alcohol to distillation purification.
