abstract | In an ink jet recording method in which recording is performed using a water-based ink containing a core-shell type colored fine particle dispersion on a recording medium in which an ink absorbing layer having voids is formed on a support, light resistance and film peeling resistance are improved. An ink jet recording method having excellent color reproducibility is provided. Disclosed is a core-shell type colored fine particle dispersion in which a color material-containing fine particle containing a color material in a resin is coated with a resin not containing a color material on a recording medium in which an ink absorbing layer having voids is formed on a support. In an ink jet recording method for recording using an ink containing a product, the surface hardness ratio of the recording medium (surface hardness after ink jet recording / surface hardness before ink jet recording) is 40% or more and 95% or less.
