A water-based paint includes an anionic emulsion resin as at least a part of a coating film forming component and also includes a heat-sensitive gelling agent, and the gelation temperature of the anionic emulsion resin is 60 to 90 ° C. The method for forming a coating film is to form a primer coating layer by applying pre-heating after applying an aqueous primer coating on an object to be coated, and applying pre-heating after applying an aqueous base coating on the primer coating layer. A base coating layer is formed, and a clear coating layer is formed by applying a clear coating on the base coating layer. Thereafter, the three coating layers formed are simultaneously baked.
