abstract | The present invention provides a diversified population of uniquely labeled probes. This population includes about 30 or more target-specific nucleic acid probes, each probe attached to a unique label attached to the nucleic acid. Also provided is a method of generating a population of uniquely labeled probes. The method comprises the steps of: (a) synthesizing a population of target-specific nucleic acid probes each having a different designator; (b) synthesizing a population of corresponding anti-gene digits each having a unique label. (C) hybridizing the population of target nucleic acid probes to the anti-gene digits, wherein the population has sufficient diversity to uniquely hybridize to the genetic digits within the designator; Generating a uniquely labeled population for each target-specific probe. A method for detecting a nucleic acid analyte is also provided. |
