titleOfInvention | Recombinant viral switch for regulating gene expression in plants |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for regulating a biochemical process or a biochemical chain in a plant using the interaction process between a heterologous DNA sequence in a transgenic plant on the one hand and a heterologous DNA sequence in a plant virus gene transfer vector on the other hand. Has been described. Furthermore, this interaction process requires low molecular weight components. This interaction process turns the viral gene transfer vector into a gene "switch," which includes, for example, nucleic acid recombination, replication, transcription, restriction, translation, protein folding, assembly, targeting, post-translational processing, or enzymatic reactions. Such various reactions switch on the desired biochemical process or chain. In addition, there is provided a method for producing a product in a transgenic plant and a kit of parts for this method. |
